On joining the South Lancashires c1915-7, they were sent to Mesopotamia (modern day Iraq) to antagonise the Turks in the Great War and prevent the Axis forces gaining control of the oil fields. George E. probably took the 2 group photos. He joined the 3rd South Lancashire Regiment & was probably transferred to the 6th which went abroad to become part of the 38th Brigade of the 13th Western Division. Showing the possible location of 'The Mews' in the Seaforth/Waterloo area of Liverpool, birthplace of George Kenneth in 1917. Now (1986) called Water Street (off Brunswick Parade) in Waterloo, Liverpool, a tributary of Great George Road. The remains of cobble stones may indicate terraced housing built for the dock workers of the time. The relatives of George's mother, Ellen (2) were employed in the local area.

St Thomas' Church, Kimberworth, supposed baptismal place of Rodger (16) & sister (17) & St Andrews, Brinsworth, Rotherham, Paul Ellis (19) baptised here c1960, children of Neville (7) & Doris Trehearn (15). 3rd picture is of Brinsworth Primary School where they spent their first educational years. I spent my first years at Siemens Road, Tinsley, Sheffield (right).

The brothers, then & now, Rodger (16) & Paul Ellis (19) sons of Neville Trehearn (7)

Many Trehearns were baptised, married & buried here at St Peter's Church, Lugwardine near Hereford from the 16th century.
The picture below shows 'Old Court Cottage' in the 1980s. It is uncertain if this building has any connection with Middle Court,
Lugwardine, the home of the Trehearns, but it certainly looks the part! The third photograph is of Cradley Church which was frequented during the mid to late 18th century. Anthony (33) was baptised here in 1788.

The map below shows the county of Herefordshire in 1750. Lugwardine is to the north-east of Hereford.
