FROGGATT INDIVIDUALS Page 1 Ref. Nos. 23-527
Note - there are 2 different families of Froggatts listed here - for John Froggatt of Baslow b.c1550 see 922, for John Froggatt of Froggatt b. c1550 see 1085, both on page 2.
Surnames associated with the line of Froggatt; Woods, Jackson, Read,
Holland.
This line is currently speculative.
It is to be noted that the village of Waleswood, where many Froggatts where
born/baptised, was in the Parish of Treeton, so if one is described as being in
either it may be the other. Births, marriages & deaths in the area of Wales &
Waleswood were commonly recorded in various districts at different times. These
included Worksop, Nottinghamshire, Sheffield, Yorkshire, Rotherham, Yorkshire,
Doncaster (as a Parliamentary Borough)
and sometimes Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
