It is, however, likely to be the same person as the name Lena is known to be a diminutive (or short form) of a name ending in
line, lynn, lin as in Caroline.

No record seems to exist to verify what happened to Thomas' children after the baptisms of John, Hugh, Eli and William in Lugwardine. (as at August 1988).

Son Thomas b. 1593, therefore was Edmund marr. previously?

(i) aka Treahearne/Traherne/Triherne.
(ii) Edmund's father bequeathed, in his will dated 5 January 1601, the remaining years of a lease (promised to the father Thomas, by Mr Deinton) of "certain meadow ground lying in Tupsley's meadow, containg 71/2 acres".
(iii) Edmund's brother, John (284), made a "nuncupative" will whilst lying on his death bed in 1613, in which he left all his property to Edmund Traherne (Treahearne) of Marden (thought to be later of Ullingswick) and Richard Traherne (283) of Lugwardine, who were joint executors of this will.
(iv) In his will of 1630, Edmund, of Ullingswick, is described as "Edmunde Treahearne". The will is signed with his mark, which is partly illegible, but thought to be a "T".

(ii) In his father's will of 1601, he was left the lease of the house in which he, Thomas Traherne, was then living, together with the "crofte or close" adjoining (all leased from Mr Nicholas Wallwyn, gent.), on condition Richard allowed his father's wife, Joan, to have a "chamber there for her own abode". It is probable that this property was "Middle Court", as it is known that the Wallwyn family owned a number of properties in Lugwardine, one of which could have been the manor of "Middle Court".
(iii) Richard's brother, John (284), made a "nuncupative" will whilst lying on his death bed in 1613, in which he left all his property to Edmund Traherne (Treahearne) of Marden (thought to be later of Ullingswick) and Richard Traherne (283) of Lugwardine, who were joint executors of this will.

(v) The "crofte or close" mentioned above may also refer to "Wilcroft" (as a thought in Sept. 2010).
